JA Company of the Year 2025 – Finals

On Friday 22 August, five teams of young Mauritian entrepreneurs gathered at La Nouvelle Usine, Floréal under the theme “ACT – Action for Climate Transformation.”

After months of hard work, these 17-year-olds turned bold ideas into concrete projects — from recycled products to innovative solutions for a greener future.

The 2025 Finalists:

  • Droopnath Ramphul SSS
  • Gaetan Raynal State College
  • Loreto College Quatre Bornes
  • Loreto College St Pierre
  • Westcoast International Secondary School

National Champion 2025: Loreto College St Pierre, with its plant-based air purifier. The team will represent Mauritius at the JA Africa Company of the Year Competition in Nigeria this December.

More than a competition, JA Company of the Year is a complete entrepreneurship journey: from business plan to trade fair, and finally pitching before a jury of professionals. It equips students with leadership, teamwork, and resilience — preparing them to drive real change.

“Innovation knows no age. These young people bring incredible ideas, contagious energy, and a genuine desire to protect our planet.”
Laurence Forget, Executive Director, JA Mascareignes

The 2025 edition was made possible thanks to the support of Standard Bank, LFL, MIPS, and the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation, along with dedicated mentors and rectors.

This year’s finals proved once again: the next generation isn’t waiting for change — they’re creating it.
