GOAL Accelerator Certificate Ceremony in Rodrigues

On the 8th March, for International Women’s Day, JA Mascareignes, in collaboration with the Commission for Women in Rodrigues, held a certificate ceremony to honor women who successfully completed the GOAL Accelerator program.

Launched for the first time in Rodrigues last year, the program empowers young women by helping them develop their skills, confidence, and potential, whether for employment opportunities or entrepreneurial ventures.

The ceremony was attended by Nicolas Dalais, Chairman of the Board of JA Mascareignes, who celebrated the commitment and perseverance of the participants.

The GOAL Accelerator program provides young women with the tools and support they need to succeed in their chosen path, whether in employability or entrepreneurship.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Commission for Women for their collaboration, and to our dedicated coordinator and trainers in Rodrigues: Murielle Ravina (Coordinator), Ann Louise Edouard, and Marie Stephania Perrine (Trainers), whose passion and dedication make the program possible.

The Engineering Workshop

As part of the launch of the JA Company Program 2026, JA Mascareignes organized an Engineering Workshop on the 25th February bringing together nearly 300 students from various public and private secondary schools.

Designed in partnership and under the coordination of the AI4GOOD Mauritius team, in collaboration with Campus Digital Maurice (Rubika) and Twögether, this workshop gave students a hands-on experience in technological innovation and entrepreneurship, while providing them with a solid foundation to understand and leverage artificial intelligence, the central theme of this edition.

The theme of the day, “Past, Present, Future: The Car of Tomorrow,” guided participants through an immersive journey.

Rubika, an international school of design, animation, and video games established in Mauritius through Campus Digital, contributed its expertise in Design Thinking and innovation.

Guided by the professionals, students imagined and presented their vision of the car of tomorrow, integrating technology, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and user experience, turning a simple idea into a structured and well-argued concept.

Twögether, a branding agency, highlighted the importance of a strong and consistent visual identity, helping groups better structure and showcase their message.

Through this workshop, which combined theory and practice, participants discovered that artificial intelligence is not an abstract futuristic concept but a concrete tool that enhances human creativity and supports decision-making.

By the end of the day, each group had produced a short, impactful video using AI, applying innovation, creativity, and branding.

The projects will be evaluated based on originality, coherence, and impact, with the best being rewarded, among other things, with Open Badge certification.

This experience also serves as a first step in introducing participants to the upcoming AI4GOOD 2026 festival, encouraging them to continue their engagement with creative and responsible AI.

This workshop represents a significant milestone in the JA Company Program, giving young participants the opportunity to engage in a Design Thinking session ahead of the competition, providing them with guidance for what lies ahead.

Beyond the competition, this type of collaboration between educational institutions, professionals, and other stakeholders serves as a powerful catalyst for Mauritian schools. It provides students with tangible exposure to the world of innovation and helps them develop essential skills for their academic and professional future.
